In today’s tutorial you will learn to create a unique artwork. You have filled a text with a color or a gradient but today you will learn to fill Letter with Random Artwork in Adobe Illustrator.

Step 1

Launch Adobe Illustrator and create new document. Now select the Rectangle Tool from the Tool Panel and draw a rectangle of the size same as the size of the artboard. Fill color in the rectangle to create a background.

Now select the Type Tool and click on the artboard. Activate the type box and type the letter. Increase the font size and choose a bold font type.

Try to choose a font type in which letter has round edges. You can even round the edges on your own. Like, in above image you can see that the inner shape of letter has sharp paths. Select the letter and then select the Direct Selection Tool.

When you will select the Direct Selection Tool, you will notice a small circle in the letter. Select that circle and drag it upwards. The sharp path will be converted into a curved path.

Step 2

Now draw a random artwork which you want to fill in the letter. You can draw the same as I have drawn.

Now make multiple copies of the random artwork filled with different color shades and place it all over inside the letter.

Fill whole of the letter with the random artwork created. You may use varied sizes for filling in the letter.

Today’s tutorial is neither about any effect nor typography. It’s all about vector artwork.
In today’s tutorial you will learn to draw Vector Cheese 😋 in Adobe Illustrator.

Let’s begin with the tutorial. First of all launch Adobe Illustrator and create new document. Now follow the below steps-

Step 1

Select the Ellipse Tool from the Tool Panel and draw a circle of size 270 X 270 pt.

Now select the circle with the help of Selection Tool. Right click on the Pen Tool and select the Add Anchor Point Tool.

Now add two new anchor points on the left side of the circle.

Select the Scissor Tool and click on both the new anchor points and then delete that path. Now select the Pen Tool and draw the paths as shown in the below image.

Step 2

Select the shape created and go to the Menu Bar. In the Menu Bar, click on Effect and place the cursor on 3D and select Extrude & Bevel.

In 3D Extrude & Bevel Option dialogue box, put a checkmark on Preview and set the X axis to 50o, Y axis to -18o and Z axis to -7o. Click OK.

Now select the shape and click on Object in the Menu Bar. Click on Expand Appearance and then Ungroup all the shapes 2 times.

After ungrouping, delete all the extra and unwanted paths. After that, make compound path of the required shapes.

When you will delete unwanted paths and make compound paths you will be left with only 3 required shapes. The top side of the Vector Cheese and the two shapes of the base.

Step 3

In this step we will fill color in the Vector Cheese.

Fill the top of the Vector Cheese with the color code # ffe248 and the base with # eeb124.

With the shape and color the artwork is taking the shape of Vector Cheese but it is missing the holes present in the actual cheese. So now draw the rough circles of varied size and fill them with both the colors used above and place them all over the Vector Cheese.

Step 1

Launch Adobe Illustrator and create a new document. Select the Type Tool from the Tool Panel. Now click on the artboard and type the text.

Now select the text with the help of Selection Tool and make it an editable text. Click on the Create Outlines Button in the Properties Panel and then Ungroup the text. Create Outlines Button helps in converting the text into paths.

Step 2

Select all the letters and go to the Appearance Panel. Click on Window in the Menu Bar and select Appearance. When you will click on Appearance, Appearance Panel will appear on the artboard.

In Appearance Panel, select Add New Fill icon present at the bottom left.

New Fill layer will be added in the Appearance Panel. Now in that layer change the fill to the Gradient Fill and you will see that the text is filled with the selected Gradient.

Again select your text and change the Fill and Stroke. Fill the stroke color. We will not fill the Fill color.

Now select the Pen Tool and draw inside the text. We will draw our text with the help of Pen Tool.

Now select the outer layer of the text and delete it.

Press Ctrl + A and group all the letters.

Step 1

First of all we will create a background but before that we will create a new document in Adobe Illustrator. Select the Rectangle Tool and draw a rectangle same as the size of the document. Now fill color in the rectangle to create a background.

Now select the Ellipse Tool from the Tool Panel or press L (Shortcut Key). Draw 2 circles of size 363 X 363 pt.

Step 2

Select the first circle and fill it with White and Black Gradient Swatch. Now double click on the Gradient Tool in the Tool Panel.

In the Gradient Panel, change the Gradient Type to Radial. Now go to the Gradient Slider and change the opacity of White color to 0% and Black color to 60%. Change the location of the slider to 87%.

Step 3

Now select the second circle and fill it with the White and Black Gradient Swatch. Double click on the Gradient Tool and open Gradient Panel. Change the Gradient Type to Radial and double click on the Black color in the Gradient Slider. When you will double click on the black color, Swatches Panel will appear. Now select the white color from the Swatches Panel and change the opacity to 80% and set the opacity of other white color to 0%. Set the location of the slider to 87%.

Select the second circle and place it above the first circle.

Your circles are taking the form of a Crystal Ball.

Step 4

Again select the Ellipse Tool and draw 3rd circle of the same size. Fill it with White and Black Gradient Swatch and open the Gradient Panel. The Gradient Type will be Radial. The two colors on the Gradient Slider will be white and grey (#d1d3d4). The opacity of white color is 0% and opacity of second color is 30%.

Select the third circle and place it above the second circle.

Step 5

In this step we will give a final touch to the Crystal Ball.

Select the Pen Tool and draw a thin arc shape. Fill it with white color.

Make three more copies of the arc shape and change the opacity of all the four arc shape to 45%.

Now draw 8 edges star shape and place it at the edge of the Crystal Ball.
