Let’s launch Adobe Illustrator and begin with the tutorial.

Step 1

Create a new document and select the Type Tool. Click on the artboard to activate the type box and now type the text which you want to wrap around the sphere.

To make your text attractive you may change its font size and font type. Arrange the text as shown in the image below.

Step 2

Now press Ctrl + A to select all the text. After selecting all the text Group those by hitting the Group Button in the Properties Panel.

Now we will save this group of text as a Symbol. Open the Symbol Panel by clicking on Window in the Menu Bar. Select Symbol and the Symbol Panel will appear on the artboard.

Now select the group of text and drag it to the Symbol Panel to add it as a symbol.

Click OK and the group of text will get added as a symbol.

Step 3

Now place the group of text aside and select the Ellipse Tool. Draw a circle on the artboard with the help of Ellipse Tool.

Now select the Scissor Tool and click on the anchor points to cut the circle into half.

Now select the Pen Tool and draw a straight line from one anchor point to another. The shape formed will be a semi circle.

Step 4

Now select the semi circle and click on Effect in the Menu Bar. Place the cursor on 3D and select Revolve to form the Sphere.

When you will click on Revolve, 3D Revolve Option dialogue box will appear on the artboard.
Put checkmark on Preview.

Step 5

Now click on Map Art in the dialogue box.

In the Map Art dialogue box you will see a graph. In that graph we will place the grouped text symbol on this graph also put checkmark on Invisible Geometry.

Launch Adobe Illustrator and create a new document. Select the Type Tool from the Tool Panel and type the text.

Now select the text and click on Edit in the Menu Bar. Click on Copy to copy the text.

Again click on Edit in the Menu Bar and select Paste in Back. The text will get paste at the back.

Step 2

Now select the top layer of the text and change the color of the text.

Now go to the Layer Panel and select the bottom layer of the text.

With the help of Alt key create a duplicate copy of the bottom layer of the text which is filled with black color.

Now select both the text layers of black color and click on Object in the Menu Bar. Place the cursor on Blend and select Make.

Double click on the Blend Tool in the Tool Panel and set the Specified Steps to 150.

Check the Preview and click OK.

Step 4

Again go to the Layer Panel and click on the drop down arrow of Blend Layer. Select the text layers individually and reduce their Opacity to create the Long Shadow Effect.

Rubik’s Cube is a 3D puzzle which we all must have tried to solve. Some might have got succeeded and some might have not but it doesn’t matter. Solving a Rubik’s Cube has nothing to do with today’s tutorial. It is about making 3D Rubik’s Cube in Adobe Illustrator.

Follow the below steps to learn to make 3D Rubik’s Cube in Adobe Illustrator.
First thing to do is to open Adobe Illustrator and create a new document.

Step 1

Select the Rectangle Tool and draw 3 vertical rectangle of size 63.551 X 189.72 pt. Now draw 3 horizontal rectangle of size 189.72 X 63.551 pt.

Now place the rectangles all together forming small squares as shown in the below image.

Step 2

After placing all the rectangles as shown in Step 1, Press Ctrl + A and then go the Pathfinder Panel and click on Divide.

You can open Pathfinder Panel by clicking on Window in the Menu Bar and then selecting Pathfinder. The Pathfinder Panel will appear on the artboard.

Now your 6 rectangles will get divided into 9 small squares.

Step 3

With the help of Alt Key make 2 more duplicate copies of the squares.

Now Ungroup all the squares and fill them with different colors but the stroke color will be same for all the squares. Stroke color will be Black with Stroke Size of 4pt.

If you don’t want to fill the squares with random color them you can select 3 different colors for each section of 9 squares.

Step 4

Now we will make 3 groups of these squares and arrange them to make our 3D Rubik’s Cube.
Select one set of 9 small squares and Right click on mouse. Now select Group.

In the similar way group other two sets also.

Now select the first group of squares and click on Effect in the Menu Bar and then place the cursor on 3D and select Rotate.

3D Rotate Options dialogue box will appear on the artboard. In that dialogue box, set the position of rotation as Isometric Left.

Check the Preview and click OK.

Now in the similar way Rotate the other sets also. One will be rotated in Isometric Right position and other will be rotated in Isometric Top position.

How to make Cartoon Eyes in Adobe Illustrator?

We all have watched cartoon in our childhood and also remember few of our favorite cartoon characters. Today’s tutorial is about making Cartoon Eyes in Adobe Illustrator.

You can make cartoon eyes as per your imagination or you can try the one which we will make in today’s tutorial.

Step 1

Launch Adobe Illustrator and create a new document. Select the Ellipse Tool and draw an oval shape. Select the oval shape and with the help of Direct Selection Tool expand the oval shape into the shape shown in the below image.

Fill the shape with color #f1f2f2.

Again select the Ellipse Tool and draw an oval shape filled with black color.

Now draw a small circle filled with white color with the help of Ellipse Tool. Place the circle at the top left side of the black oval shape. (See the image below)

Step 2

Now we will draw the eyelashes of the Cartoon Eyes. Select the Pen Tool and draw the eyelashes of black color as shown in the below image.

Now select the eyelashes and click on Effect in the Menu Bar. Place the cursor on Stylize and select Drop Shadow Effect.

In the Drop Shadow Effect dialogue box, set the mode of the effect to Multiply, Opacity to 60%, X Offset 1pt, Y Offset 7pt and Blur 1pt.

Check the Preview and click OK.

Step 3

The Cartoon Eye has been formed but we will add few more things to it. For that, select the Ellipse Tool and draw an oval and with the help of Direct Selection Tool expand the shape and create the shape as shown in the below image.

Fill the shape with color #2fafa8. Create a duplicate copy of the shape with the help of Alt key, reduce its size and fill it with color #acdfdc. Select both the shapes and place them on the black oval.

Now select the Pen Tool and draw a thin black color arc at the bottom of the Cartoon Eye.

Step 4

You have drawn a Cartoon Eye but need one more. So press Ctrl + A and create one duplicate copy with the help of Alt Key. Now flip the duplicate copy and place it at its right position to complete your Cartoon Eyes.

You can also draw eyebrows with the help of Pen Tool.

Your Cartoon Eyes in Adobe Illustrator is ready. After drawing the eyes, now it’s time to show some creativity.
