In today’s tutorial, we will create Spectrum Ribbons in Adobe Illustrator with the help of the Pencil Tool and Blend Tool.

Step 1
Start with launching Adobe Illustrator and create a new document with RGB color mode. After creating the document, select the Rectangle Tool and create a background filled with black color.
Now select Pencil Tool and fill the stroke color white. Now draw a few lines on the artboard as shown in the below image.

Now select all the lines and click on Object in the Menu Bar. Place the cursor on Blend and select Blend Options.

Now in the Blend Options dialogue box set the Specified Steps to 1 and then click OK.

Again go to the Menu Bar and click on Object. Place the cursor on Blend and select Make.

You will get the below-shown result after making the Blend.

Step 4
In this step, we will increase the Specified Steps of the Blend.
In the above steps, I have set the Specified Stepsas 1 to get a clear view of the lines but in this step, we will increase the Specified Steps.
Double click on the Blend Tool in the Tool Panel and then increase the number of Specified Steps.

If you want you can reduce the Opacity of the Blend.

Step 5
Now we will color the Blend or we must say the Spectrum Ribbonswith a Gradient.
Select the Blend, fill it with gradient, and then double click on the Gradient Tool to open the Gradient Panel.
Fill the Ribbon with a Gradient
Now go in the Swatches Panel and click on Swatch Libraries Menu. Place the cursor on Gradient and select Spectrum.

Now from the Spectrum Gradient, you can select the gradient of your choice, and then in the Gradient Panel, you can make the required changes in the color and adjust the color.
