Today you will learn to create Monogram Logo with the help of Hexagon Shape in Adobe Illustrator. We will use Polygon Tool, Pen Tool, Shape Builder Tool and few other tools.

Step 1

Launch Adobe Illustrator and create a document of size 500 pt X 500 pt. Now select the Polygon Tool from the Tool Panel and draw hexagon on the artboard. There will be No Fill color in the hexagon.

Step 2

Select the hexagon and click on Object in the Menu Bar. Place the cursor on Path and select Offset Path.

 Now create an Offset Path of -18 pt. Check the Preview and click OK.

Similarly, create two more offset paths of the hexagon.

Step 3

Now select the Pen Tool and draw few lines from the center point of the hexagons. (See the image below)

Step 4

Press Ctrl + A to select all the layers. Now select Shape Builder Tool from the Tool Panel and start adding the paths of outer two hexagons and lines to form letter G.

Now we will remove all the extra paths. Let all the paths and Shape Builder Tool be selected. Press and hold Alt key. You will see a minus sign below the cursor. Now move the cursor over the paths which you want to delete.

We have to create the letter C with the inner two hexagons. So we will remove all of the other paths.

Today’s tutorial is about making 3D Circular Maze in Adobe Illustrator. We will make 3D Circular Maze in Adobe Illustrator using Ellipse Tool, Pen Tool, 3D Extrude & Bevel and few other tools.

 Launch Adobe Illustrator and create a new document. Now start making 3D Circular Maze in Adobe Illustrator by following the below steps:

Step 1

 Select the Ellipse Tool and draw two circles of size 60 pt X 60 pt and 470 pt X 470 pt. Now select both the circles and open the Align Panel. You can find Align Panel under Window in the Menu Bar.

In the Align Panel, select Align to Artboard and then click on Horizontal Align Center and Vertical Align Center.

Step 2

Let the circles be selected and click on Object in the Menu Bar. Place the cursor on Blend and click on Make.

Now we will increase the steps of Blend. Double click on the Blend Tool in the Tool Bar. Blend Options dialogue box will appear on the artboard. In that dialogue box, select Specified Steps form the background and increase the number.

Check the Preview and then click OK.

Step 3

Now select the Pen Tool and draw a vertical lines on the circles as shown in the below image.

Select the line and click on Object in the Menu Bar. Place the cursor on Transform and select Rotate.

A dialogue box will appear on the artboard. In that dialogue box, set the Angle of Rotation to 10o and click on Copy.

Now press Ctrl + D to repeat the rotation.

Now we will add few more lines.

Step 4

Press Ctrl + A to select all the layers of the artboard. Now click on Object in the Menu Bar and select Expand.

When you will click on Expand, a dialogue box will appear. In that dialogue box, let all the options under Expand be selected and then click on OK.

Step 5

Now go to the Pathfinder Panel and click on Divide.

After dividing all the paths, ungroup them by pressing Shift + Ctrl + G.

Step 6

Now we will make the starting points of our Maze by removing few paths from the outer circle.

And now it’s time to create the end point of the Maze. The end point will be on the inner most circles.

Now start making way from the starting points to the end point by removing the unwanted lines.

Step 7

Now change the Stroke color of the Maze and then click on Effect in the Menu Bar. Place the cursor on 3D and select Extrude & Bevel.

In 3D Extrude & Bevel Options dialogue box, manually set the position of your 3D Circular Maze and click OK.

In this typography tutorial, you will learn to learn to create a typography art. We will Fill Text with Lines in this tutorial. We will be using Type Tool, Ellipse Tool, Blend Tool and Pathfinder Panel.

Let’s start the tutorial by opening Adobe Illustrator and creating a new document.

Now follow the steps:

Step 1

Select the Ellipse Tool from the Tool Panel and draw a circle of size 5pt X 5pt. The circle will only have the stroke color.

 Again draw a circle of size 590pt X 590pt. Then select both the circles and click on Horizontal Align Center and Vertical Align Center in the Align Panel. This is will align both the circles at the center of the artboard.

Step 2

Now select both the circles and click on Object in the Menu Bar. Place the cursor on Blend and select Make.

Now double click on the Blend Tool in the Tool Panel and then increase the Specified Steps in the Blend Options dialogue box.

Check the Preview and click OK.

Step 3

Now select the Type Tool and type your text.

Now place the text on the circles.

Press Ctrl + A to select the blend and the text. Now click on Object in the Menu Bar and click on Expand.

Click OK.

Step 5

Let the circles and text be selected and open the Pathfinder Panel. Now click on Outline in the Pathfinder Panel.

After clicking on Outline, you will see few line and outline of the text. The color of the lines will be same as the color which was filled in the text.

Press Shift + Ctrl + G to ungroup all the paths.

Step 6

Now select the lines which are inside the text and change their color. Also increase the stroke size.

Now remove all of the other paths expect the lines filled inside the text.

In this similar way, I have filled few other texts also with lines. Then I have placed an image on the artboard to create a background. You can also create a plain background.
