Glitch Text Effect in Adobe
Illustrator
In today’s Adobe
Illustrator tutorial you will learn to create Glitch Text Effect with the help of few tools and pre-set
effects.
Open Adobe
Illustrator and create a new document. Now follow the below steps to create
Glitch Text Effect:
Step 1
Select the Rectangle
Tool from the Tool Panel and create a background. Press Ctrl + 2 to lock the background.
Now select the Type
Tool and type the text.
Step 2
Select the text and
press Shift + Ctrl + O to
make it and editable text.
Step 3
Again select the Rectangle
Tool and draw thin rectangles over the text as shown in the below image.
Step 4
Press Ctrl + A to select all the
layers and then go to the Pathfinder Panel. In the Pathfinder Panel,
click on Divide and then press Shift
+ Ctrl + G to Ungroup.
Step 5
Now remove all the
unwanted layers from the Layer Panel and at last you will get the
following result-
Step 6
Now select the parts of
the thin rectangle which are on the text and slightly shift them towards left.
(See the below image)
Now move the remaining
rectangles.
Select all the shapes
and group them by pressing Ctrl + G.
Step 7
Select the group and
then press Ctrl + C to copy
the group. Now press Ctrl + B
to paste in back.
Go the Layer Panel
and hide the upper layer of the group. Then fill the lower layer with the color
# 00aeef.
Now we will apply Outer
Glow Effect to this layer. Click on Effect in the Menu Bar
and then place the cursor on Stylize and select Outer Glow.
In the Outer Glow dialogue
box, set the Mode as Screen and select the color of glow same as the
fill color.
Check the Preview
and click OK.
Step 8
Select this lower layer
of the group and again create a duplicate copy at the back. After creating a
duplicate copy at the back, hide the middle layer.
Fill this layer with
the color #be1e2d. The same
color will be used in Outer Glow Effect.
Go in the Appearance
Panel and select the Outer Glow layer. The dialogue box will appear
on the artboard. In that dialogue box make required changes and then click OK.
Step 9
Now unhide all the
layers and then select the middle layer. Move the text towards left and then
select the lower layer and move the text towards right.
