In today’s tutorial, you will learn to make the Fingerprint Logo Design in Adobe Illustrator. The tools, that will be used in the tutorial, are the Ellipse Tool, Offset Path, Direct Selection Tool, and Pathfinder Panel.

Launch Adobe Illustrator and create a new document. Now, follow the below steps:

Step 1

Select the Ellipse Tool and create a circle of size 40 pt X 40 pt. Turn off the Fill color for the circle.

Step 2

With the help of the selection tool in illustrator, select the circle and click on Object in the Menu Bar. Place the cursor on Path and select the Offset Path.

Offset Path dialogue box will appear on the artboard. Now, create an offset path of 10 pt and click on OK.

Similarly, create few more Offset Paths. (See the image below)

Step 3

Now select the second innermost circles with the help of the Selection Tool. Press and hold the Alt key, and drag the selection to create a duplicate copy of it.
Place the duplicate copy of the circle at the edge of the outermost circle as shown in the below image.

Step 4

Select the duplicate copy of the circle, and create an offset path in the same way as created in Step 2.

Step 5

Press Ctrl + A and go to the Pathfinder Panel. To open the Pathfinder Panel press Shift + Ctrl + F9.
In the Pathfinder Panel, click on Divide and then Ungroup the whole selection.

Step 6

After ungrouping the selection, delete all the unnecessary paths of the larger circles.

Now select the Direct Selection Tool, and remove the unnecessary paths of the remaining circle.

Step 7

Now, we will remove a few more lines to make it look like a Fingerprint. Then we will make the caps of the stroke rounded.

Now increase the stroke width and change the color of the stroke.
